Headquartered in Silicon Valley and with an office in Beijing, Canyon Bridge is focused on providing equity and strategic capital to enable technology companies to reach their full growth potential. Our team combines a deep knowledge of the global technology industry with experience in financial markets to provide investment expertise.

Principals in Canyon Bridge have collectively nearly 100 years of experience in the global technology, private equity, and M&A markets and have participated in hundreds of M&A transactions.

Our company was envisioned by long-time friends and business associates who believed the combination of a seasoned private equity investor, senior M&A investment banker, senior M&A attorney, and a semiconductor industry leader would be an ideal team to manage a global M&A firm.

We are investors who provide capital, deep technology experience, and business smarts that is driven by an entrepreneurial spirit designed to help companies innovate and grow. Canyon Bridge is focused on ensuring the long-term growth of the companies we invest in.

Our investment philosophy is to work closely with company executives to implement best business practices and tap growth markets globally, including through additional investments and accretive acquisitions.

Leadership

  • Benjamin Chow, Ph.D. Managing Partner Read bio

    Dr. Benjamin Chow is the founder and the managing partner of Canyon Bridge Capital Partners. Ben has more than 20 years of private equity, venture capital, senior management and technology R&D experience. Prior to founding Canyon Bridge, he was a managing director with China Reform Fund Management Ltd., a partner with Beijing Leading Capital, and a managing director with SIG China. At Warburg Pincus Asia, he was in charge of semiconductor investments in North Asia and was an associate at Rustic Canyon Partners, a VC firm focused on technology, media and telecom in Los Angeles. Ben’s industry and management experience includes serving as a global product manager at Applied Materials and a research engineer with Boeing Phantom Works. He earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), an M.B.A from the Anderson School at the University of California at Los Angeles and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from UCLA.

  • Ray Bingham Partner Read bio

    Mr. H. Raymond Bingham is a co-founder and a partner of Canyon Bridge Capital Partners. Ray brings to Canyon Bridge more than 35 years of experience as public company chairman, CEO, CFO and board member. Most recently, he served as executive chairman of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation and chairman of Flextronics International Ltd.  Previous to that, he was lead independent board director of Oracle Corporation and managing director with General Atlantic, a global private equity firm, where he was the co-head of the Palo Alto office and led the firm’s technology investments.  Ray has also held various executive management roles at Cadence Design Systems, including executive chairman, president and CEO and CFO. He received his B.S. in economics from Weber State University and M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

    Mr. John Kao is a co-founder and a partner of Canyon Bridge Capital Partners. He also serves as General Counsel for the firm. John brings more than two decades of experience in M&A and private equity transactions to the firm. An expert in handling complex and sensitive transactions, John has worked on more than 100 M&A deals in his career in a variety of industries, such as technology, energy, media, automotive, food and retail. Prior to joining Canyon Bridge, John was partner-in-charge of the Beijing Office and Asia chair of M&A for Jones Day, one of the largest international law firms where he specialized in corporate, M&A, and private equity transactions. He received his B.S. in civil engineering from Virginia Military Institute, and J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.

    Mr. Peter Kuo is a co-founder and a partner of Canyon Bridge Capital Partners. With more than 20 years of experience in the technology sector, Peter brings to the firm an expertise in managing and advising multinational companies on complex cross border transactions. During his career, Peter has been involved in more than $100 billion in acquisitions across the TMT, industrial and consumer sectors, having worked on M&A transactions with leading technology companies such as ARM, Alibaba, Google, and Texas Instruments. Prior to joining Canyon Bridge, Peter served as a managing director at Lazard, a leading financial advisory and asset management firm. He began his banking career as a technology M&A banker for Broadview International. Peter is a Fulbright Scholar who holds both a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.S in foreign service from Georgetown University.

  • Sumeet Mehra Principal Read bio

    Mr. Sumeet Mehra is a Principal at Canyon Bridge Capital Partners. Sumeet brings to Canyon Bridge more than 15 years of experience in technology investment banking and consulting. During his career, Sumeet has been involved in more than $75 billion in transactions in the technology industry and he specializes in complex, cross-border situations. He has worked with a variety of technology clients including ARM, Intel, MKS Instruments, Dell, Sensata, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia, Microsoft, Nortel Networks, HP, and others. Prior to joining Canyon Bridge, Sumeet served as a Director at Lazard, a leading financial advisory and asset management firm. He began his career as an M&A banker at Morgan Stanley. Sumeet holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology.

  • David NK Wang, PH.D Senior Advisor Read bio

    Dr. David Wang is senior advisor to Canyon Bridge Capital Partners. David has over 35 years of experience in the global semiconductor industry, during which time he has established a track record of innovations, with more than 100 patents under his name. Prior to joining Canyon Bridge, David was president, CEO and executive director of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), CEO of Huahong Group and chairman of Huahong NEC. David’s career at Applied Materials spanned 25 years, where he held various executive management positions, including president of Applied Materials Asia and global executive vice president. David has received numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions to the semiconductor industry, including the first-ever lifetime achievement award from Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). The Precision 5000 equipment he co-developed at Applied Materials was inducted into the permanent collection at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC in 1993. More recently, David is to be inducted into the prestigious Silicon Valley Engineering Hall of Fame. He received his Ph.D. in material science and engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
